For the second consecutive year, Barker Buick GMC has decided to participate in the GMC Youth Football Program. The GMC Youth Football Program is a grassroots, community outreach program that is a “win-win” program for Barker Buick GMC, Terrebonne Parish Parks and Recreation (TPR), and LaFourche Bayou Bantum Football Leagues. All provide an opportunity for local youth leagues to grow and provides Barker Buick GMC the ability to build and foster a relationship with our local communities.
TPR and The Bayou Bantum youth football leagues each received six equipment bags, two 5-gallon water coolers, a First-Down marker set, Helmet Decals, 150 practice t-shirts, 50 Cheerleading t-shirts, Banners, and fundraiser entry tickets. Barker Buick GMC donated $500 to each league, for any additional equipment needed. Using the fundraiser entry tickets, the leagues have the opportunity to raise as much as $10,000 through ticket sales, from which someone in each region of the country will receive a new GMC Terrain! There will be local winners as well.
“Helping the youth of our community is why we are participating again this year” says James Landry, Sales Manager, at Barker Buick GMC. “Please show your support for our youth by purchasing a raffle ticket.” To purchase tickets in Terrebonne Parish, please contact Mr. John Morgan, at 985-873-6587. In LaFourche Parish, Mr. Al Vizier with the Bayou Bantums can be contacted at 985-637-8329. Ticket sales by both leagues resulted in several winners last year. The Bayou Bantums sold the winning ticket for the Terrain given away in our region.
In addition we would like to invite everyone out to the TPR annual Jamboree at VCHS. Saturday September 10th, beginning at 8 am. Please come out to show your support.
