Your Guide To Sierra EV’s Denali Edition 1
The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1: What You Should Know
The first-ever Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is scheduled to land in dealerships this summer, and to say that we’re excited would be a massive understatement. The Sierra EV sports the same powertrain as the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 EV, and according to the brand, it’s capable of hitting 60 miles per hour (mph) in only 4.5 seconds. While it shares several features with its corporate cousin, this lightweight, all-electric pickup gives drivers an entirely different experience. While the Chevrolet Silverado is a more pragmatic and, at times, sporty model, the GMC adds layers of decadence to the bones laid down in the Silverado model that set it apart.

What’s Inside?
Mechanically, the GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is a mirror image of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 EV, in the cabin however, the two trucks couldn’t be more different. GMC drenches its EV model in luxury, with quilted CoreTec upholstered seats, authentic engineered bass wood, Galvano chrome accents, and perforated seats that allow heating and ventilating functionality. Denali badging is located throughout the five-seat cabin and a fixed glass roof allows natural light to flood in and give it an open-air feel, while infrared and UV coating keeps it cool and comfortable.
Modern tech is abundant. The cockpit is defined by a giant, 16.8-inch, tablet-like infotainment system with customizable screens and menus. It's paired with a similarly large 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster. A seven-speaker Bose® premium sound system treats your ears to a rich bass subwoofer and a wireless device charger ensures your smartphone is always ready to stream your favorite tunes.
What’s Under the Hood?
The Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 might be the pretty boy of the GM trucks, but even though it comes dressed in fine materials, the half-ton truck is packing a whole lot of muscle. Under the hood is a dual motor system that gallops off the assembly line with 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can feel the full force of that power by toggling on the “Max Power” mode and vrooming to 60 mph in only 4.5 seconds. As far as performance goes, the Sierra EV also borrows several features from its stablemates, including the HUMMER EVs Crab Walk feature allowing it to drive diagonally by aligning the rear-wheel angles with the front wheels. The Sierra is unafraid to get dirty and features an adaptive air ride suspension that can raise and lower the truck, giving it a boost in ground clearance whenever drivers want to veer off-road for some trail-tackling adventures.
When Is it Available?
As stated above, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is expected to be released in late summer of 2024. The Elevation and AT4 trims will join the lineup in early 2025.
