The Regal Sportback was redesigned and entered a new generation in 2018 and is back and ready to impress for 2020. For the 2020 model year, you have four trim levels to choose from: Regal Preferred Essence Avenir The Regal trim starts the list off strong with automatic dual-zone climate control, remote start, push-button start, a rearview camera, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 3.5-inch driver information display, a 7-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, a premium 7-speaker sound system, rear USB charging ports, an interior humidity sensor, and a Teen Driver function. The top-tier Avenir trim offers built-in navigation, a safety suite that includes rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change alert, and LED headlamps with auto leveling, a Bose® sound system, and wireless smartphone charging. The interior of the Regal Sportback is spacious and comfortable, and adults will find that there’s plenty of room for passengers to stretch out and relax even on longer journeys. Children can ride along safely thanks to two sets of LATCH connectors. Powering the Regal Sportback is a 2.0-liter engine with 250 horsepower. This peppy engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive may be added to the Regal Sportback.

The Regal Sportback was first sold for the 1973 model year as the Buick Regal and has been luxurious from the start. Originally, the Regal was sold in both coupe and sedan models as was traditional for personal luxury cars at the time, though the coupe edition was discontinued in 1997 as drivers began to prefer the convenience of four-door sedans over two-door coupes. Buick briefly discontinued the Regal in 2004, though it made a grand re-entrance after a 14 year hiatus for the 2018 model.
