WHAT’S NEW ON THE 2020 GMC TERRAIN?
For the 2020 model year, the GMC Terrain comes with the same amazing features as the 2019 model. For 2020 however, it now offers several safety features as standard – automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, low-speed forward collision warning, and front pedestrian detection. On top of these safety features you also receive adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, a blind-spot warning system, a surround-view parking camera system, and much more. The 2020 GMC Terrain comes in four trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali. You have two engine options to choose from: a 1.5-liter turbocharged fourcylinder or a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. When it comes to technology, you receive satellite radio, a wireless charging pad, USB ports, Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, Bluetooth®*, and many others. For comfort, you’ll appreciate the leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and more.
HISTORY OF THE GMC TERRAIN
The GMC Terrain was born in 2010 out of consumer demand for smaller more efficient crossover vehicles. The Terrain seated five and shared the same platform with its sister vehicle: the Chevrolet Equinox. The 2010 Terrain model, however, benefitted from a significantly more upscale design, as GMC placed an emphasis on establishing an individual identity for the Terrain. The vehicle was available in both forward wheel drive and all wheel drive configurations.
GMC continued to refine the luxury aspects of the Terrain up to the 2013 model year with the addition of the Denali trim level and a seven-inch touch display screen on all Terrain models. In 2015, GMC added OnStar® technology to this vehicle and every other GMC model as well.
