The GMC Yukon vs. Yukon XL:
Explore The Differences
The GMC Yukon XL: Bigger and Badder
Everyone who drives a GMC Yukon loves it. That’s a given. There’s tons of cargo space and a welcoming interior. But you’ve probably noticed that there’s a brand new baby in the GMC lineup, and it’s an even bigger version of GMC’s flagship SUV: the Yukon XL. Here at Barker Buick GMC, we’re happy to help show the differences between these two models so that you can choose which one is right for you.
2024 GMC Yukon vs. 2024 Yukon XL
Both of these high-quality SUVs can seat eight passengers. But the true difference is size and scope. The Yukon XL is more than 15 inches longer than the Yukon – 225.2 inches for the XL vs. 210 inches for the Yukon. The wheelbase is similarly larger – 134.1 inches longer for the XL vs. 120.9 inches for the Yukon – meaning that the Yukon XL isn’t a beast to drive.
That means you get a lot more cargo space in the Yukon XL: 41.5 cubic feet of storage behind the third row and 93.8 cubic feet of storage with the third-row seats folded down. Drop the second-row seats, and you get 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space in the XL.
The Yukon ain’t no slouch, though. It has 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row. When you fold that third row down, you’ll find 72.6 cubic feet of cargo space. There are 122.9 cubic feet of total cargo space available when you drop the second-row seats.
Roomy Third Row
The Yukon XL offers an extra two inches of legroom in the third row. Now, that doesn’t sound like much, right? But there’s a world of difference between five-foot-ten and six-feet tall. Believe us when we tell you that space is absolutely a game-changer for tall people in the back row.
